Bakersfield, CA

We made it to Bakersfield and stayed here at the Orange Grove RV Park, very easy access off the freeway and easy pull-throughs. Quiet and tidy and reasonably priced in $40 range, we'll definitely be staying here again ! Cute grounds with little country store. Had to have a tire value replaced before we could leave the desert, we are getting our electric awning repaired when we reach Coburg, outside of Eugene, OR. The Country Coach plant has laid off workers and they are only charging $50 per hour to do repairs instead of $120 and they will come out to the Premier RV Park to do them!

Hiking on San Jacinto Mountain

The plants in the desert here are flourishing with the recent cooling trends we've been having, quite a few cloudy days but not really any rain just the threat of it. They come and go very quickly passing over the San Jacinto's to West of us.

Fun fun fun.....

It's a thrill and well worth the ticket price to take the tram ride to the top. You can see all the way to the Salton Sea off to the East. They also have a great little restaurant & lounge at the top with comfortable outside patio's to view the valley below and it's over 25 degree's cooler up there!.

Making lists checking them twice, excited about our trek up to Oregon soon it's going to be so nice!
We are trying to come up with a plan for another form of transportation via scooter or toad. The honda ruckus looks like a nice ride but our daughter doesn't really care to see her parents on scooters or a harley for that matter. I like those shiny candy apple red ones that you can hear coming 1/4 of a mile behind you.I saw a couple Buddy 150 scooters in Cat City yesterday, very nice looking with an extremely loud horn, (great idea) anything to lessen your chances of being running over.
