RVing at Lake Cahuilla

Spent part of last week at Lake Cahuilla, an ancient lake/reservoir on the South end of La Quinta in the Salton Trough. We stayed in the equestrian camping zone which is in a cove down a dusty road and a bit out of the way for group camping. We met a nice couple there with a few horses and listened to the trumpets play at sun down from the boy scout camp. One other large celebration was going that night, alot happy people out there! You must check out the great hiking trails, it's really beautiful in the morning.

And We're Off!

We headed out on a weekend trip, took Lily & Cottie with us. Lily rides in my lap and Cottie sleeps the whole time in her bed on the floor next to my chair. Cottie is 13 now and slowing way down. This trip was the first time that she needed help getting up the stairs into the RV, she's really showing her age now, my poor sweet Pug.

We stayed near Cajun Pass, CA. close to Rancho Cucamonga and woke up to head out to a local resevoir on Hwy. 15. The road showed to be decent from the map and there were no signs posted about the dangerously narrow and curvy road we embarked on. It was a flipping nightmare.... Traffic was crazy and we had to cut corners to manage alot of the turns. After about 5 miles we found a small turn out and walked it off several times to see if we could turn this 40ft. ship around. It was a tight squeeze and I had a major panick attack while Hubby got this beast turned around and pointed in the right direction. This is the part of RVing that I don't care for, but we seem to manage to get ourselves in a "Tight Spot" at least once a year. Whew! Hopefully that will count for 2010.
